Privacy
Nighttime Nathan is a free story podcast for kids. This page says what this website collects, who gets it, and how to say no.

Your choices
The tracking on this site comes from two tools. Google Analytics counts visits and what gets listened to. The Meta pixel tells Meta whether a visit came from one of our ads. You decide whether they run.
Where the law says we have to ask first (the EU, the UK and some other places), they stay off until you say yes. Elsewhere they are on unless you turn them off here, or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honor. Your answer is remembered on this device for six months.
What we collect
- Email addresses, if you give us one. For the mailing list, a coloring page or a character. They go to Kit, which sends our emails, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Characters made in the character maker. The picture, the character's name and world, the name and age typed in for the maker, an optional note, and a parent's email if given. We might feature some on this website, on our social accounts or on the show; a featured card shows the name and age that were typed in. Email us to have one taken down.
- Visits and ad results. Only as set above. Pages opened, what is played or tapped, roughly where (country and city) and the kind of device, through Google Analytics and the Meta pixel. They set their own cookies (_ga and _fbp, lasting up to 2 years and 3 months).
- Small notes on your own device. That you have joined the list, which coloring pages you downloaded, and the like, so the site remembers. They stay on the device.
Who gets it, and for how long
Kit (email), Google (Analytics, the private spreadsheet and folder where we keep character details, and YouTube, whose player plays the songs), Meta (the pixel), Transistor (hosts the podcast audio) and our web host (the site, saved characters and ordinary server logs). Some are in the United States. We do not sell personal information for money.
Emails: until you unsubscribe, and removed if you ask. Characters: until you ask us to remove them. Analytics: 14 months. Server logs: a limited time, set by our web host.
Children
The show is for kids and this website is for their parents. We do not ask children for a last name, an address, a phone number or an email address. The character maker asks for a character name and, if a child wants it on the card, a name and age; any email we ask for is a parent's. If your child has sent us something you would like removed, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights, and who to ask
Depending on where you live, you can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, to take a copy, and to take back any consent you gave. In the EU and the UK you can also complain to your data protection authority. Where the law treats the pixel as “sharing” information for advertising (California, for example), the switch above, or Global Privacy Control, is your opt-out.
