Podcasts for 6-Year-Olds

A free story podcast for six-year-olds β€” bigger adventures, real feelings and an original song at the end of every episode. Made for the age where school, sport and friendships all get more complicated.

What changes at six

Six-year-olds care about fairness, about being good at things, and about what other people think of them β€” often for the first time. The episodes here are the ones that meet that head on: a class presentation Nathan is dreading, a baseball bruise that makes him wonder if he wants to keep playing, a school play where he is cast as a tree, a diving board he cannot make himself climb.

Long enough to be a real story

At six most kids can follow a full 15–20 minute plot with a middle that gets worse before it gets better, which is when this show is at its best. The two-part Marshfellowship of the Spoon is worth saving for a long journey around this age.

Still silly

None of this comes at the cost of the jokes. The worlds are still made of breakfast and staffed by worms, and a six-year-old is exactly old enough to find a queen named Lactose the Tolerant funny for the right reason.
